BASKETBALL ATHLETICS TRAINER
Visionary and Founder Audreece Dickson, as a child, would have qualified to be a part of Driven State of Mind’s target audience. In similarity to the young men, Audreece grew up in an inner-city, crime-ridden community, single-parent home with his mother and three additional siblings. Within these circumstances, very little was ever handed to him easily except for one thing…an insatiable passion for the game of basketball. Converting abandoned shopping carts from neighboring grocery stores into basketball goals and rickety folding chairs into markers for drills, Audreece would spend endless hours honing his God-given passion. The love of basketball drove him, motivated him every day.
Audreece Dickson definitely loved basketball; and, basketball seemingly loved him. Basketball became a soothing getaway for Audreece to express the perils of his home life. Basketball became a social outlet to connect with other young men who had life goals beyond the normal traps of impoverished communities. Basketball produced surrogate fathers and male role models via coaches who gave encouragement and correction. Basketball’s love had an immeasurable, positive impact on Audreece an impact that now fuels his desire to mentor young men in the game of basketball, teaching them how to score with and without the ball, on court and in life.
